We know your Thanksgiving schedule is likely jam-packed with cooking and shopping, cleaning and more cooking. The last thing you want to think about is putting together a kids’ table.
Usually a hodgepodge of leftover odd bits and bobs, it actually doesn’t take very much to create a little Thanksgiving flair just for the little ones. Not only will your younger guests love the effort, their moms and dads likely will too. Here are some brilliantly simple ideas from a few of our favorite bloggers.
Set the scene with a fun table setting
We love this colorful, fun setting by Celebrations At Home, which mixes traditional pumpkins and turkey cupcakes with modern patterned details, such as the napkins, which are actually $1 bandannas. The pumpkin place settings serve double-duty: Their tied-on name tags assign seating for each little guest, and they serve as a table activity, with markers provided so that kids can draw on them. The centerpiece of turkey cupcakes is super-easy, simply a combination of chocolate cupcakes, Nutter Butter cookies, mini chocolate chips and fruit strips. Get the how-to here.
Details they’ll be grateful for
This sweet turkey juicebox by Fun-Squared is so easy. All it takes is some construction paper, googly-eyes and dollar-store feathers, or you can draw the eyes and beak, and make the feathers from paper. Low-effort, high impact… right up our street!
Kiddies are messy, so instead of a tablecloth, why not lay down either butcher paper or a coloring sheet taped to the table? We love the free printable from The Crafting Chicks, who also have a fantastic free printable placemat for kids that’s beautifully designed and includes activities – simple click here and print on legal-sized paper.

An easy Thanksgiving-themed craft is the ideal way to keep the littles occupied before dinner. This pilgrim hat by Alpha Mom needs only some craft paper, scissors, stapler and glue stick, and will make for some lovely holiday photos.
We are so here for this gratitude-themed My Incredible Book of Thanks by What Moms Love! Another lovely design, it’ll keep them busy with coloring, a word search, a gratitude-themed I Spy, and more, focusing their attention on the spirit of the holiday.
With all the activity going on at the kiddies’ table this year, don’t forget to set out crayons, markers and whatever else they may need. Here, A Blissful Nest sets out crayons in mason jars, easily accessible from an old cheese box.
